Travel Connection
Patti Wilkie has operated as a home based travel agent under the name of Travel Connection since 1993. After gaining certifications under CLIA, ICTA, Jamaica, Austria, and several other programs, the opportunity presented itself to fulfill a lifelong dream of traveling to Tanzania, Africa in 2000. Having only whetted her appetite, she once again applied for Kenya program in 2004. In late 2007 Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls), Okavango Delta in Botswana, and two different areas of South Africa (Kruger and Madikwe) were added to her experience. In 2008 she admitted to being a Safari Addict and returned to Kenya to explore some previously unvisited parks.
She is eager to spread the wonders she has seen and has presented programs to the local library “Friends” group, a Children’s Museum fundraiser, and Lions Club.
In May she has designed a tour with eight new visitors and one veteran so she can personally share her addiction with others. She is planning on taking a group each year.
For other travel (such as tours or cruises), she usually meets people in the comfort of their homes with brochures and personalized planning suggestions. If homes are not available, extensive phone interviews are utilized to make sure clients get the type of travel that is suitable to their needs.
